Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. Her acting career started in the year 1996, when she appeared in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It took some time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller role. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting since model actors aren't generally considered an actor of high quality. Models are often only given minor or unimportant roles. Amy did not give up. She climbed the ladder into bigger roles, beginning with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Then she stepped into main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized for the role she'd been seeking more than a decade. Amy went on to star in major movies like the Crank Series alongside Jason Statham, and Shameless.
